Lac Leman, or Lake Geneva, one of the largest lakes in Western Europe, shared between Switzerland and France. The French name "Lac Leman" is derived from the Roman "Lacus Lemannus" from Roman times; Lemannus comes from Ancient Greek "Limènos Limne" (Λιμένος Λίμνη) meaning "port's lake".
