Wiener Musikverein

In the Wiener Musikverein - the Concert Hall of the Viennese Music Association, home of the Vienna Philarmonic Orchestra - for a Mozart concert in April 2014. The Musikverein was designed by Danish architect Theophilus Hansen in the Neoclassical style of an ancient Greek temple.

The Great Hall (Großer Saal) or Golden Hall (Goldener Saal) is considered one of the finest concert halls in the world due to its highly regarded acoustics, along with Berlin's Konzerthaus, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and Boston's Symphony Hall.

Its lively acoustics are primarily based on Hansen's intuition as he could not rely on any studies on architectural acoustics.

Theophilus Hansen also designed several landmark buildings in Athens - such as the Academy of Athens, the University of Athens and the National Observatory of Athens
